After an internal testing period followed by a successful trial period in June, the Northern Italian borders France-Italy, Austria-Italy and Slovenia-Italy borders will be participating in the Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC) starting Tuesday 21 September 2021.

Starting 21 September 2021, the Local Implementation Project LIP 14 embedded in the pan-European Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC, formerly known as XBID) project will go live at Northern Italian Borders (France-Italy, Austria-Italy and Slovenia-Italy).

This is the 3rd wave of integration of new bidding zones into the already existing Single Intraday Coupling mechanism (known as SIDC or XBID platform).

Currently implemented explicit Intraday Allocation will terminate on France-Italy and Austria-Italy border. In particular, the last explicit Intraday auction on both borders will be held on 20/09/2021 : Intraday Explicit Auction occurring on 20/09/2021 at 15:40 CET, for the 24 hours of delivery day 21/09/2021. The 2nd explicit intraday auction (which should theoretically occur on 21/09/2021 at 10:25 CET for delivery day 21/09/2021) will not be held.

The “Allocation Rules for Intraday Capacity Allocation on France – Italy and Austria – Italy Borders” shall no longer be valid as implicit intraday continuous trading mechanism shall be applied on these borders (see CRE’s deliberation n°2021-273 of 9 September 2021 regarding the France-Italy border).

As a consequence, the “Access Rules for Imports and Exports on the French Public Power Transmission System" have been updated. They are available in their new version 4.1 (validated by CRE deliberation n°2021-273 of 9 September 2021) on the RTE services portal.
