The ten candidates are the successful bidders: AGREGIO, ALPIQ ENERGIE FRANCE, ENERDIGIT, ENERGY POOL DEVELOPPEMENT, ENGIE, EQINOV, FLEXCITY, SMART GRID ENERGY, TOTAL FLEX et VOLTALIS.
Like last year, the demand response bids selected have all been “green,” meaning that they do not require diesels.
This proposed result is the outcome of the new changes introduced for this call for tenders by the French authorities together with the European Commission: the maintenance of the bid price ceiling at 60 k€/MW and the extension of the eligibility period of the sites > 1MW up until the end of the current decision.
The demand response call for tenders is a scheme set out in the legislation (Article L271.4 of the French Energy Code) to contribute to the French Multiannual Energy Programme objectives in terms of developing electricity load reductions.
